Ireland's descent into violent racism

Recently (August 2025) stories have appeared in the media of a rise in racially-motivated violent attacks on Indians residing in Ireland. See this report on 07 Aug 2025 in Irish newspaper.  Watch this shocking video of violent attacks on Indians in Ireland.  This video is about a 6-year old girl violently attacked by teenagers outside her home in Waterford, Ireland.

On 10 August 2025, I sent the following message to the "Embassy of Ireland" in London, and (by email) to the "Embassy of India" in Dublin, Ireland, and online to the Govt of Ireland at: https://www.ireland.ie/en/contactus/contact-for-all-other-queries/

Embassy of Ireland, Great Britian                                               10 Aug 2025
Hello
I wish to express my outrage and disgust at the recent violent racist attacks on children and adults of Indian origin living in Ireland, and the lack of concern and action by the Irish police and government to support the victims of such crimes and prevent them escalating.

These crimes must be treated seriously by the police force and the courts and the criminals must be found and brought to justice.  From what I have seen and read, the police and the government are not taking this violence seriously and not speaking out against it.  That show of indifference by those in authority and responsible for law and order is disgusting. See these links to illustrate the appalling incidents of violence and the inaction by authorities:

I often travelled to Ireland many years ago and did not experience any racism and I enjoyed my visits and the people I met.  The current wave of hate and violence by racists in Ireland and the indifference shown by the authorities fill me with disgust and make me very wary of returning to Ireland.  These incidents and the unsatisfactory response by the police and the Irish government are shameful and they damage the reputation and standing of Ireland internationally.

Take effective action urgently to protect ALL Irish residents regardless of their ethnicity or the colour of their skin.

Israel's genocide of Palestinians: at least 80 killed in Israeli air strike on a shool that was used as a shelter by women and children.

Today, I came across a video clip of an interview of a Save the Children aid worker (Casey Harrity) in Gaza. She was asked how she is feeling about what she is seeing: "This is the worst I've seen.  I've worked in Syria, I've worked in Iraq and other places...We're seeing a new level of depravity in this conflict and we cannot let this be the new normal.  We can't let attacks against children be the new normal...we're asking for people to step up...to demand a definitive ceasefire...member states should not be sending weapons...and we're asking to open the borders so that we can get more supplies in..."

Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
