It is organised by English transliteration of Punjabi words, beginning with "A".  For example I looked for "Aloo" (potato).  I was pleased to find it under "Alu" and defined as "potato". Overview:  The book is a translation into English, of a book by Bhai Mani Singh "Sikhan di Bhagat Mala", which provides stories of the disciples of the gurus from Nanak to Har Gobind.  The reason why Mani Singh wrote his book was to describe to devotees, the qualities of true devotees.  These qualities had originally been described by Bhai Gurdas in his 11th ballad (but is seems they were lost or forgotten over time and so Bhai Mani Singh narrated stories told to him by Guru Gobind Singh, about the qualities of true devotees.  Those stories were then set down in Bhai Mani Singh's "Sikhan di Bhagat Mala"). The English translation includes a brief biography of the life of Bhai Mani Singh.  In essence, the book highlights the devotees of the gurus who had the qualities of true devotees and it describes those qualities.
